Outpost, as a Flatpak
Self-hosted chat with voice, for one community.
Install it
Add the repo and install, in two commands.
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists --user outpost https://flatpak.outpost-chat.com/outpost.flatpakrepo
flatpak install --user outpost io.github.blindrun.OutpostChat
Run it with flatpak run io.github.blindrun.OutpostChat, or from your
applications menu like anything else.
Updating
Updates arrive with everything else. flatpak update picks them up, and so does
whatever your desktop already runs on a schedule.
Bazaar, GNOME Software and KDE Discover
Add the remote once with the command above and Outpost shows up in all three, the same as any other app. None of them can add a remote for you. On Bazzite, Warehouse does it with a button if you would rather not use a terminal.
Why this is not on Flathub
Flathub does not accept applications built with AI assistance, and Outpost is one. Their rule, plainly applied, and this repo is the honest way around it rather than a workaround for it. Everything here is the same build that would have gone there.
If you would rather not
An AppImage and a .deb are on the releases page. There is a hosted web client at app.outpost-chat.com that needs no install at all.
